CC1101: P2P Replacements

Part Number: CC1101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2500, CC1120

Hello,

Are there any other CC devices that are P2P replacements of the CC1101? Preferably with the same instruction sets

We are looking for a device with the ability to receive root-raised-cosine 4FSK waveforms.

If there are other low power non-P2P solutions that may work better, we are open to recommendations.

Thank you!

Ryan B.

  • We don't have any devices that are P2P compatible with CC1101 (except for CC2500).

Neither do we have any devices that are capable of root raised cosine out of the box. I have only seen question related to RRC for narrowband applications, what is the use case here?

  • Hi TER,

    Thanks for the response.

My understanding is that our CC parts do not have any internal features to allow native RRC demodulation, but is it even possible with these devices? Meaning are there any paths to get this working using FW or something else external?

Or is the best way to receive RRC 4FSK to use one of our RF PLLs?

This is small form factor battery powered comms for defense applications.

    Regards,
    Ryan B.

  • What I have suggested for RRC based receive on the forum in the past is to use CC1120 and read out the I/Q data and make a demodulator externally. Not sure if anybody actually have done so but it's a possibility.
