LAUNCHXL-CC1310: Increase Data / Symbol Rate and Decrease Packet Interval

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310

Hello!

Could somebody explain me the relation between Data Rate and real connection speed. In smartRF studio there are Typicaly Settings with different modulations, speeds and other parameters. But minimum packet interval in advanced option is 50 ms. I need 10 ms. Is this real to achive such packet intrerval? And what is "Data rate up to 4 Mbps" in the data sheet?

  • Hello Sergey,

I have forwarded this post to our expert.

    Thanks,

    Sai

  • The packet interval in SmartRF Studio is limited of the connection to the PC. If you start from the examples provided in the SDK you can send/ receive packets back to back.

  • Thank you, Sai and TER.

I changed the symbol rate in the SmartRF Studio from 50 kbps to 200 kbps with increasing RX filter BW and it works fine. The modulation is 2-GFSK.

Also I found many topics by the key word "cc1310 4 mbps" and now I want to try 1, 2, 4 mbps. I red that in the demo project rfPacketErrorRate there is smartrf_settings_predefined.c. But I can`t understand how do I have to change data rate and choose the modulation 4FSK or 8FSK when there are only CMD_RADIO_SETUP HSM and Overrides for CMD_RADIO_SETUP HSM settings. Can you send me an example file with smartrf_settings for HS mode and explain what parameters should I change to get different data rates? And how to generate smartrf settings in HS mode.

And another question. In the Long Range Mode what is relationship between symbol rate (20 kbps) and data rate (5kbps)? And what maximum data rate can be reached in the LR mode?
