CC1312R: minimum preamble size

Part Number: CC1312R

Hello,

What is the minimum preamble size for a correct reception with the CC1312R in 2-GFSK and 4-GFSK ?

Why in SmartRF Studio typical settings, the preamble size is 4 bytes for 50 kbps but 7 bytes for 50 kbps 802.15.4g (802.15.4g allow a minimum of 4 bytes and the SmartRF settings put 1 byte of preamble in the sync word) ?

Best regards,

Nicolas

  • I will check why we have used different preamble length for these two settings.

  • To cover your main question:

What is the minimum preamble size for a correct reception with the CC1312R in 2-GFSK and 4-GFSK ?

    - For 2 GFSK we have tested with 3 byte but we have some indications that lower should be possible

    - For 4- GFSK we have only tested with 4 byte.

For the 15.4g settings I haven't found out why 7 is used since the lab work is only done with 4 I believe. 1 byte preamble is included in the sync word to get fewer false sync.
