CC1312R: Using CC1190 with CC1312

If you need PA, why don't you use CC1352P instead of CC1310+CC1190?

Our application requires the maximum amount of power we can get. The 7 dB advantage of the CC1190 is 

an absolute requirement.

CC1352P can output TX power to 20 dbm. Isn't that enough?

I wish :)  In our application there is a significant loss through a material. That combined with a specific desired

range makes it necessary to have 27 dB of transmit power.  We've even looked into other amplifiers that

provide 33 dB such as this: https://www.skyworksinc.com/en/Products/Amplifiers/SKY65111-348LF

I only need to use the maximum power setting. Is the CC1310 power setting (0xCE) to get max power from the CC1190

the same for the CC1312?

Since CC1310 and CC1312 uses different PA tables I can say for sure (since I haven't tested CC1312 + CC1190) but the CC1310 settings shuld be fairly close to what you want. 

Radiocrafts have done a module with CC1312R + SAW + PA.

Output power is close to 28 dBm with harmonics below both CE and FCC requirements. (@ 3.6V)

Part numbers are : RC1882HPCF for 869.525 MHz and RC1892HPCF for 902-928 MHz.

(PS the app note on CC1310+ CC1190 for EN300220 is done on a old revision of EN300220 and are not 100 % correct today. It was correct in 2017 when it was written.)

We use them today as part of our IP based mesh and you will find the datasheet there under RIIM.

But they can of course also be used with any fw solution.
