CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC1310: Can MSP-Fet or XDS110 on CC1352P be used to measure power consumption of CC1310-Launchpad?

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET, CC1310, CC1352P

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am getting some weird results when measuring power consumption of CC1310-Launchpad. After downloading the pinShutdown example into CC1310-launchpad, I connected GND and VCC of MSP-Fet to GND and 3V3 on CC1310-launchpad, and I connected jumper P10 to external power supply.

The following is what I get. After pressing left button/right button, even when CC1310 is supposed to be in shut down mode, I still see ~4mA current draw, while CC1310 draws ~10mA after waking up.

I got similar results with XDS110 with ET-HDR on CC1352P launchpad, there is always a 4mA baseline current draw not sure where from.

So my question is, did I do something wrong or we are not supposed to use such setup to measure CC1310-launchpad power consumption?

Thanks.
