But you need to know more about the CC1020 setup than the frequency.

Have you set up a sync word on the CC1120 side? Have you set up a sync word on the CC1020 protocol? Have you checked that the CC1020 and CC1120 boards operate on the exact same frequency since frequency offset could easily cause two different type of boards to not communicate.

I set it with reference smartRF studio.

Yes. Set the board to send a CW and measure with a spectrum.

CC1020 is most likely not using the default sync word CC1120 uses. 

I convert value of sync0,1,2,3 to AA.

Then cc1020 and cc1120 communicate.

But, all received data is crc error.

It is not possible for us to answer what you should set the sync word to on the CC1120 when we do not know what sync word your CC1020 is programmed to send.

The recommended sync word for CC1020 are 2 bytes (0xD391), 3 bytes (0xD391DA), or 4 bytes (0xD391DA26), but we do not know if whoever made the CC1020 application you have, have followed the recommendations or if they came up with a sync word on their own.

You can try to set CC1120 in serial mode using SmartRF Studio, and then monitor the received data on a pin to try to figure out what you CC1020 are sending after preamble, and hence what you should use for your sync word.

Also, when it comes to CRC, do you know if the CC1020 are sending a CRC at all, and if yes, do you know which CRC it is using?

If you want to check CRC on the receiver, you need to know what CRC you transmitter is using.

I don't think sniffing the SPI lines will be effective. 

If you set the sync word to 0xAAAA on CC1120 the bytes you receive after the preamble will be the sync word.

If you have a board with CC1120 which you can control with SmartRFStudio, set sync word to 0xAAAA, 16 bit sync, 20 byte fixed packet length and post what you receive with this setting.

What PA ramping is is described in the UserGuide. This setting is only relevant in TX.

We have no information on how the CC1020 system may have been setup and you have to experiment with different values/ settings to see what works or not.
