Capacitive Soil Moisure Sensor with CC1310 through I2C

I I wanted to recreate what you are trying to do on my end, what would I need to do step by step?

Hi TER, i am trying to connect a temperature sensor via I2c. It is a capacitive sensor for soil temperature. I set the i2ctmp example for this sensor, setting the reading on the PIN2 of my CC1310 but it does not read any data. Can you give me some help on how to read the data of this sensor via i2c?

The I2C interface is a two line interface. First question: What do you use PIN2 for and please show how you set up the I2C interface and the PIN2. As said, I need ALL details on how you use t he chip.

My sensor has 3 pins that I have to connect via cables with the module. My CC1310 module has connection pins leading to the chip including PIN2. So I connected GND, 3V3 and the PIN to read the data to PIN2. Then I loaded the i2ctemp example and instead of using Board_GPIO_TMP116_EN I used Board_0 which would be my PIN2

Your explanation include several contradictions, which tells me there are some confusion on terms

I2C is s digital bus. It requires 2 digital pins + gnd.

You claim you are doing I2C, but still say you use 1 pin in analog mode. This is contradiction in terms.

Mario, I asked about a datasheet, not a picture. It's not possible to see what you are using based on the picture. Please provide what I ask for if you want progress on your project.

This is a sensor with an analog output. Why did you ask about I2C?

You can connect this to any analog capable DIO and use the ADC to read the value. Please refer to the ADC examples in he SDK. 

Since this sensor uses analog output, you should use ADC to read sensor value.

Yes, I test the example on CC1310 7x7. I connect the sensor on my PIN27 an output pin of my device

I connect the DIO on my sensor on pin 27 of my board.

Looks correct both on the HW and SW side.

Which value does the ADC measure?

I would suggest you to use LAUNCHXL-CC1310 to test DIO27 first. When the code works on Launchpad, can run it on your custom design to see if it works.

Did you delete the answer to this?

If you don't have a LP I suggest you start using a resistor ladder or a voltage from a DC supply as input to test.

Note that if you search E2E you will find a lot of answers on how to use the ADC etc.

With multimeter the voltage on PIN27 is 1.1V without sensor

I change "#define Board_ADC1 CC1310_LAUNCHXL_ADC1" to "#define Board_ADC1 CC1310_LAUNCHXL_ADC4" in Board.h of adcsinglechannel example and I can see correct reading from DIO27 on my LauchPad. I attach my adcsinglechannel_CC1310_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs_dio27.out (using DIO27 as ADC1 input) for your reference.
