CC1352P: CAn we update frequency band Run time

Part Number: CC1352P

Hello,

We are using TI 15.4 stack collector and sensor projects. In the collector code, after flashing and the collector is powered on with 868 Mhz Frequency band. After forming the network can we update the frequency band to 915Mhz runtime?

Note: Here no sensors are added to the network.

If yes, can you please guide how can we implement to change frequency band run time.

  • I will assign someone to look into this.

  • Hi Haricharan,

What's the purpose of changing the frequency at runtime? I don't think that this is supported but I'll double-check.

    Thanks,
    Elin

  • Hi Haricharan,

Just double-checked with the R&D team and they confirmed that it's not supported to change frequency and PHY at runtime.

    Thanks,

  • Just double-checked with the R&D team and they confirmed that it's not supported to change frequency and PHY at runtime.

If the collector code is built out of ccs and then if we give frequency band input and then start the network then can we have the flexibility?

Like I will follow these steps

    1. By doing changes in stack related to 868MHz and 915 MHz

    2. Compile offline without CCS

    3. Flash code in cc1352

    4. The code will wait for input by the UART 868MHz or 915MHz

    5. Once input is given create the network details for the collector.

    6. Start the network with desired frequency band.

Will the above steps are possible????

  • Hi Haricharan,

As mentioned in my previous response, the TI 15.4 stack does not have support for changing the frequency or PHY at runtime regardless of how you use CCS. So no, it will not be possible using these steps.

    Thanks,
    Elin
