LAUNCHXL-CC1310: Did I receive an old revision of product?

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1310

I had two LAUNCHXL-CC1310's already from the TI store, and I ordered this as a third. My old boards are labeled Rev B on the box but the new one is labeled Rev A. The board labeled Rev A is larger, so I would tend to guess that the smaller Rev B is there newer board revision. If A is indeed an old revision, older than the Rev B I received last May, I'd like to get the newer one.

I sent this in as a support case, but they blew me off and suggested that I post this to the forum.

I'm only really looking for a response from TI, unless you know for a fact that Rev A is somehow counterintuitively newer than Rev B.

This is also case CS0471375

  • I see that the naming is a bit confusing. Since the rev 'A' board is a new board (as in new size and some minor changes in the XDS110 part) it was named 'A'. The smaller boards had reached rev 'B'.

Meaning that the rev 'A' board you have received is the latest version and the one that we are currently shipping. The only practical differences between the 'old' and 'new' boards is that the antenna is more efficient on the 'new' one and a SMA connector instead of a JSC. The connectors places close to the antenna on the 'old' board impacted the antenna.
