CC1352R: Mesh communication using Sub-1-GHz and 2.4GHz?

Hi Team,

Can you please have a look at the following customer question?

For a first demo I would like to test with zigbee2mqtt to get feedback from the gateway. Here CC26xx/CC1352P are recommended.

The CC1352 can also do 868MHz, can we use ZigBee on both frequencies at the same time to communicate via 2.4GHz with a coordinator and mesh drives via 868MHz?

For direct communication with a push button without gateway we would need Tochlink, I can't find an example for that under:
software-dl.ti.com/.../example_applications.html
Am I missing something?

  • Hi Franz,

    The customer will not be able to communicate using Z-Stack on 2.4 GHz and 868 MHz frequencies as Zigbee only operates at 2.4 GHz.  It is possible for them to use DMM to create a Zigbee + Sub-1 GHz stack solution but no examples are provided by TI for this use case.  They can refer to the DMM documentation for more information.

    TouchLink is supported inside Z-Stack, the BDB_TL_INITIATOR and BDB_TL_TARGET modes are selected through the SysConfig RF STACKS -> Z-Stack -> Touchlink Commissioning Endpoint interface.  Customer can find more about this inside the Application Overview and Z-Stack Overview sections of the Z-Stack User's Guide.  The link they used is deprecated by several years and the latest SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK version is recommended.
