RTOS/CC1310: Tx Power values less than -10 db

Hi all,

I am using 5 kbps, SimpleLink Long Range (20 kchip/s, 2-GFSK, conv. FEC r=1/2 K=7, DSSS SF=2, Tx dev.: 5 kHz, Rx BW: 49 kHz) to tranfer data. In Smartrf Studio minimum power that i can set is -10 db. But i want to set my Tx power less than this value.

I searched for Tx values but i cannot find any table or infornmation. How can i obtain all possible Tx power values that can be set? (For ex. -10 db = 0x08C0)

It's not possible to get lower power than about -10 dBm, the power setting used in SmartRF Studio for -10 dBm is the lowest possible.

Practically speaking, yes. It exist various settings for txPower that gives output power between ~5 dBm and max. The settings in SmartRF Studio are a selection of these giving closest to a dBm number without decimals.

For the lowest settings it's difficult to find settings that gives a near constant output power vs temperature. You are free too try different txPower values, see the link FredG posted for description of the bit fields
