CC1310: srfprog.exe forced mass erase not working

Part Number: CC1310

I use the command:

srfprog.exe -t lsidx(0) -e forced

output:

Texas Instruments SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 v1.8.1-windows
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Connected over 2-pin cJTAG.

Create XBAL object failed: Debug interface is locked.

XBAL EB pointer is null.
ERROR: XBAL EB pointer is null.

However, I can perform mass erase from the GUI.

Please advise. Thanks.

  • Did you try the CLI version directly after doing mass erase in the GUI?

    It looks like that something has been programmed after the erase and that the Debug interface is locked at the same time.

    Just to be sure I tried it with one of my CC1310 boards and it works fine.

    Regards,

    Øyvind

  • Yes, flashing after mass erase is fine.

    How do I unlock the debug interface?

  • Check if your application firmware configures CCFG to lock debug interface.

  • Which one configures the debug interface lock?

    The following is my ccfg.c file

    // Introduction
    //
    // This file contains fields used by Boot ROM, startup code, and SW radio
    // stacks to configure chip behavior.
    //
    // Fields are documented in more details in hw_ccfg.h and CCFG.html in
    // DriverLib documentation (doc_overview.html -> CPU Domain Memory Map -> CCFG).
    //
    // PLEASE NOTE:
    // It is not recommended to do modifications inside the ccfg.c file.
    // This file is part of the CoreSDK release and future releases may have
    // important modifications and new fields added without notice.
    // The recommended method to modify the CCFG settings is to have a separate
    // <customer_ccfg>.c file that defines the specific CCFG values to be
    // overridden and then include the TI provided ccfg.c at the very end,
    // giving default values for non-overriden settings.
    //
    // Example:
    // #define SET_CCFG_BL_CONFIG_BOOTLOADER_ENABLE  0xC5 // Enable ROM boot loader
    // #define SET_CCFG_MODE_CONF_SCLK_LF_OPTION     0x3  // LF RCOSC

    But it didnt fix the problem...

  • Do you mean debug interface still gets locked event you enable all those settings in CCFG to rebuild and download the firmware into your CC1310?

  • No idea why you still see debug interface get locked. Hope someone from TI would provide better suggestion.

  • This is a cc1310 chip on a custom board, we only have vcc, tck, tms and ground pins on the board, connected via cc1310 launchpad.

    Are these pins enough to do reset? (If i use smart programmer gui to mass erase it will always work tho...)

  • Oop! @@ You also need RESET pin.
