CC3235SF: CC3235SF Compatible Serial Flash Devices

Hi TI,

I checked the cc3x3x compatible serial flash devices but didn't understand if these flash devices should replace the internal 32MB (open the module and desolder it) or it can just be added outside the module and connect it to the SPI pins (13, 14, 15 and 17) and keeping the internal 32MB.

Hi Brahim,

SPI pins (FLASH_SPI_) are intended for production programming in case of CC32xxMOD. You cannot connect external SPI flash to these pins.

Hi Jan,

Where the external flash can be connected then? inside the module?

Hi Brahim,

Maybe you can open module can, remove SPI flash and solder new one. This is not a recommended approach. But I know about few end-users which ware able do that.

Hi Brahim,

The serial flash guide gives recommendations for the CC32xx IC devices, which do not come with the 32MB external serial flash included like the module does. We do not support a modified module.
