Hi,

I believe we have fitted some external SPI flash devices to our boards where the proprietary block protection bits are set (by accident) to protect certain sectors, now the UniFlash tool cannot format these devices, is there any way to fix this without removing the devices from the board first, i.e. by just using firmware I can add to the CC3200 device?

Some boards work fine and some we cannot format the external SPI flash.

Hi Luke,

Fastest way will be exchange SPI flash chips.

It may to be there way how change pinmux for direct access from application processor into SPI flash (sFlash), but you will need to create code by yourself. TI does not provide support for this. You can find few related threads at e2e forum. But I am not able find them now.

Hi Luke,

Unfortunately, only the NWP controls the SPI flash and can be accessed with the commands available in the host driver. Shared access to the flash from the application MCU is not supported.
