Is there a register in the WL18xxMOD family of parts that can be read from using a micro to detect what WiLink chip is present? I may have to use a different GPN from the current one in my system and need to know if there's a detection method so i can change configurations as needed with an additional section of code. Mainly i want to be able to use the same code for all systems. WL1801/1805/1831 are all good fits since I don't use BT in the product.

Hi TJ,

No , user cannot determine what version of WiLink8 module is present.

User is expected to know what WiLink8 variant is populated on the product and accordingly configure WiLink8 configuration file.

thanks for letting me know there isn't a register set up for this function. If i went an unconventional method, is there a register that would read back differently between the devices in that family?
