CC3235S: XDS110 Stand-alone probe to set CC3235MODA into development mode

Part Number: CC3235S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello,

I have a similar issue has this thread, but it's locked. I'm trying to switch my modules from production mode to development mode using Image Creator. However, the UART connection has the same error as in this post.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi-group/wifi/f/wi-fi-forum/994918/cc3235s-unlock-cc3235s-for-development-on-custom-board

Should there be pull-up res on the UART lines or not? The hardware checklist says yes, but the post is saying no?

Are there anything special configurations when using XDS 110 stand-alone debugger with Uniflash? It seems to work seamlessly with the XDS 110 on Launchpads.

Thank you,

  • Hi Will,

To clarify you have a CC3235MOD you wish to flash with the XDS 110 debugger? As long as the debugger is connected to the correct pins, you should be able to use Uniflash/Image Creator. For more information on the XDS 110 stand-alone debugger you can refer to the XDS110 Debug Probe User Guide.

We recommend to follow the HW Design checklist for your device, including adding a pull up to the TX/RX UART Lines (ONLY pins 46, and 47 on the module). See below for the comparison between the check list items for both devices.

    Best Regards,
