Hi Anantha,

A majority of this can be done with RTTT, if you have a serial port connection directly to the WL18xx. Please see this guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/swau085 

For running iperf over an AP connection, that is done via the linux terminal. See section 5 of this guide on how to connect to an AP: https://www.ti.com/lit/swru561

we dont have UART connection to WL18xx in our board assembly. i saw the second option too. but couldnt figure out precisely how it can be used to modify the parameters - especially - Ability to control the output power (maximum power will be implemented in final product)

I used the calibrator tool as you mentioned.

Thanks a lot. it fixed the main issue - that we could use the tool to change frequency.

but still one issue is there - the power we set is not reflecting in the spectrum analyzer.

The script we used for execution with spectrum analyzer output.

Are we missing something here?

How is the power being measured? Are you using an antenna or cable on the spectrum analyzer? 

It was measured using Antenna. same antenna detects high power for wifi using wpa_supplicant / normal wifi use cases. but with calibrator it is not showing good spikes in the chart.

Hi Anantha,

You should use a cable to connect to the spectrum analyzer and measure conducted output power. This way you can validate whether or not the RF is optimal by comparing your measurements to what is either stated in our datasheet or certification test reports. 

Also in the Calibrator Tool commands you shared:

• In the tune_channel command, you set the bandwidth to 20MHz
• In the set_tx_power command, you set the bandwidth to 40MHz. You should configure these to the be same
• In the set_tx_power command, the output_power is set to 16125. I would change this to 20000 and let the INI file take care of the channel power limits.
