WL1837MOD: What is the maximum size of data that wl1837 can transmit at one time?

Part Number: WL1837MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837,

Hi

We are using the communication function of wl1837. I want to know the maximum size of data that wl1837 can transmit at one time?
Which information has a detailed introduction to the Bluetooth function?

Thanks

Yunxue Wang

  • Hello Yunxue,

Could you please be a little more specific? When you refer to "at one time" do you mean in one packet? Are you referring to a BT or WiFi packet? For Wifi, it is dependent on the application, but you typically see 1500 bytes with a TCP connection.

To get started with Bluetooth software, we recommend using the bluetopia PM software stack. You can find a user's guide here: https://www.ti.com/lit/swru581

  • Hello Sabeeh

    Thanks for your reply.

    >When you refer to "at one time" do you mean in one packet?

Yes, I mean in one packet.

    >Are you referring to a BT or WiFi packet?

I am referring to a BT packet.

Thank you for sharing the Bluetooth document. I'm confirming it. If you know the maximum size of data transmitted in one packet

for the Bluetooth module of wl1837, please also contact me.

    Thanks

  • Hi Yunxue,

Unfortunately, this question is not easily answered because it largely depends on the Host and Bluetooth stack you use with the WL1837MOD. Please see this related post.

If you use the Bluetopia stack (TI provided Bluetooth stack), you can see that the minimum MTU size we support is 23 octets. Please refer to Table 3 under L2CAP in the ICS details from:

    Thanks,
