Hi,

While setting the power using calibrator seeing a discrepancy. Please ket know if any other params to be set?

Ex, Setting power to 19dBm, In spectrum view spike can be seen is in between -40 to -30 dB.

Hi Johncy,

The Calibrator Tool commands look okay, so the commands are not the problem.

Which INI file are you using?

WL1837MOD_INI_FCC_CE.ini is the ini file used. Yes the design is reviewed with TI

We are re-testing with a different spectrum analyzer. I will come back with the results on that.

Hi Johncy,

The INI and FW that should be used is the WL1837MOD_INI_FCC_CE_JP.ini and V8.9.0.0.90, respectively.

Also confirm if your test setup has been validated and and everything is securely connected.

And is this conducted or radiated?

Sounds good, please let me know if anything changes when using a different spectrum analyzer.

We are using

wlcore: PHY firmware version: Rev 8.2.0.0.245
wlcore: firmware booted (Rev 8.9.0.0.88)

Our product should support STATION mode and P2P Group Owner autonomous mode.

Can you please let know the changes between 8.9.0.0.88 and 8.9.0.0.90 and the need to move to 8.9.0.0.90 and WL1837MOD_INI_FCC_CE_JP.ini?

Hi Johncy,

There are WFA KRACK fixes on v8.9.0.0.90.

The WL1837MOD_INI_FCC_CE_JP.ini is the INI file that was used when we certified the WL18MODGI. This INI should be used as it configures the device to comply with regulatory certification requirements.

These, of course, is unrelated to the output power issue you are observing. However, it is recommended to switch to the latest FW and the INI that will assist in passing certification testing later.

Have you tried measuring the output power using a different spectrum analyzer? What were the results? And are you are doing conducted or radiated measurements?

Rev 8.9.0.0.89 - Integrated 105C temp support for WiLink8 COB designs. Can you elaborate on this change?

A FW change was done so that the WL8 ICs now support a operating temperature of up to 105C.
