My customer use WL1837MOD. For Bluetooth, they want to understand which FW version could support which BT spec.?

For example, could WL1837 firmware Rev8.9.0.0.76 support Bluetooth 5.1 ?

Which WL1837 FW reversion support Bluetooth 4.2 ?

Which WL1837 FW reversion support Bluetooth 5.0 ?

Hi Jerry,

The BT side of WL1837 can run independently from the WiFi side, so that .76 FW is not necessary. You can find the latest BT BTS here, which is necessary to execute BT radio: https://www.ti.com/tool/WL18XX-BT-SP

Using this will enable BT 4.2 support. We are 5.1 compliant, but not fully supported.

The WL1837 fully supports 5.1 however, if you decide to use our Bluetooth stack https://www.ti.com/tool/TI-BT-STACK-LINUX-ADDON
