CC3220SF: Problems reconnecting to Wi-Fi

Hi,

I'm using the CC3220SF for a Smart Garage door opener gadget to open and close the door remotely with an app, I'm getting the problem that after 2-3 days or a couple of weeks the device loses connection to wifi and can't reconnect automatically to WiFi, it needs to be power cycled and it reconnects automatically but the problem repeats again after a week or so.

I logged what the CC3220 was printing on the serial port during the failure and it printed:

FATAL ERROR: Driver Abort detected

Error Read: -2005

What could be causing these problems?
What can be done to solve this issue?

Hi Luis,

Could you provide the function that returns this error read? Do you know how this error occurs? If you start with an example from our SDK this may be easier to debug from our side.

Hi,

Driver abort is commonly caused by stack overflow or other memory corruption.

At first step you should check if there is stack overflow. If you wan to recover from this state you need to restart SoC by calling hibernation (without calling sl_Stop() before).

Hi,

This depends on used RTOS and IDE. With CCS IDE you can you ROV (Runtime Object View). More detail you will find at SimpleLink Academy - TI-RTOS, FreeRTOS. You can check this video also.
