WL1837MOD: What is the plated gold thickness on the pads?

Part Number: WL1837MOD

The specific part in question is WL1837MODGIMOCT, my company is having voiding issues with this component and would like to know the plated gold thickness to find out if we should be tinning this part. I could not find this information on the datasheet.

Hi Elizibeth,

This part should conform to IPC-4552 and would not expect the plating to be the root cause to the solder voids. A solder paste stencil example is provided at the end of the data sheet.

Common causes for voids in the solder can be:

Low preheat temps

High levels of flux

Solder paste oxidation or the general quality of the solder paste

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi forum
