CC3220S-LAUNCHXL: Custom board IC not detecting

We have designed CC3220S custom board for our project. The issue is some MCUs are detecting while we check from the UNIFLASH tool. We have purchased ICs from the Digi key and Chinese supplier. The Chinese supplier IC is detected on the board. But new ICs from the Digi key is not detecting. Do you have any suggestion to find the issue?. The hardware design is already reviewed by your team.

Hi Abhilash,

Are you testing the devices on your custom board by using Uniflash? To test between the IC devices from Digikey and chinese suplier are you using 2 separate boards, or did you swap the IC on one board?

Lastly were you able to apply the previous feedback given for your board design. For example:

Use an LDO that can supply up to 1A or more
If C6 is 0.1uF, then R2 must be 100k so that the RC time constant meets the requirement to properly boot the device.
Pin 55 (UART_TX output) and pin 57 (UART_RX input) each require a 100k pull up.

Yes board is testing with Uniflash tool for loading the firmware.

We have soldered the ICs in two separate boards and swapping also tried, still old chip (Chinese Supplier) is detecting with the Uniflash tool.

Currently testing board have done all these changes.

How do we make sure that not detecting ICs are faulty?

If you have a LAUNCHXL could you try swapping the main IC with the ones you received. This would rule out if it is the device or the custom board.

Replacing the MCU in LAUNCHXL would be difficult of us, the components are very small pitch and hot air applied for MCU may affect on it badly.

In the meantime, to detect non-responding IC try probing the UART lines. You can compare the observed scopes from the non-working IC with the launchpad.
