WL1837MOD: Does WL1837 support Data Length Extension?

A customer found that data transfer has been fragmented on WL1837 by a limit of 27 bytes. Does WL1837 support DLE(data length extension) to enable a bigger PDU?

Hi Sabeeh,

Thanks for confirming.

The customer wants to transfer a large file(10MB) between WL1837 and iOS BLE, it takes too long since DLE is not supported. I read from this post that GATT long reads and long writes are recommended for large MTU exchange, can you please elaborate on how to use GATT long reads/long writes on WL1837?

You can negotiate the GATT MTU (it is actually set to to

GATT_MAXIMUM_SUPPORTED_STACK_MTU=131 in most of the examples), using

GATT_Exchange_MTU_Request.

Check

GATT_Read_Long_Value_Request and

GATT_Prepare_Write_Request API in GATTAPI.h.

Why won't you use legacy BT (SPP or FTP profile) or even the Wi-Fi interface for the file transfer?
