Hi Josel,

Content of sFlash is erased during image programming via Uniflash software.

Part of sFlash which cannot be erased is a OTP area. Only way how to clear OTP part of sFlash is to exchange chip physically.

Is this referring to the external flash memory which is the MX25R3235FM1IL0 (U9 in the Launchpad)?

Hi Josel,

Yes, that is correct.

Because sFlash memory (MX25xxx) is used as primary storage of firmware and other files at CC32xx devices. On-chip flash at SF devices (XIP) works like a code execution "cache" only.

In the datasheet, How about "Pressing the (SW4) and toggling RESET (SW1) restores the factory default image on the serial flash. This can be used to recover a corrupted serial flash, provided the s-flash was programmed with a recovery image." is this also referring to the external sFlash?

Can we use this to reset or clear the external sFlash memory (MX25xxx) ?

Hi Josel,

This feature does not clear content sFlash. It returns filesystem at sFlash into state which was programmed by Uniflash. But this feature need to be explicitly enabled during initial programming of image.

Can you describe what your customer really needs (it may not be same thing what is questioning)?
