CC3235SF: Error -241 and Bootloadr Error when debugging / flashing CC3235SF

Part Number: CC3235SF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310, , ALLIGATOR

Hello Experts,

I would like to flash or debug our custom board. When I try to debug with code composer studio I get the following error message.

When I try to query the MAC address, I get a timeout:

The custom board ran without errors, then a measurement was taken with the oscilloscope. After that, the device no longer worked. I can't explain exactly what the reason could be, maybe you have an idea.
When trying to debug or flash the device, the above error messages appear.

For the CC1310 I have found a hint for the error -241, here a mass erase is carried out with SMartRF Flash Programmer. For the CC3235SF there seems to be no such tool - at least there is no selection option for the CC3235SF in SMartRF Flash Programmer.

Another possibility is of course that the component has been damaged and needs to be replaced. However, this would be my last option and I would like to try all other possible solutions first.

Maybe you can give me some hints on how to solve the problem, that would make me very happy. Thank you.

  • Hi,

According errors above it looks that your CC3235SF chip is damaged or you have issue with power source or other components at your board. At first step check power source and visually inspect your board. If all  will be OK, than exchange CC3235SF QFN chip.

  • Hi Vignesh,

Based on the description where everything was working until some physical probing, my expectation is physical damage as well. Potentially ESD, but I would guess potential shorting from the scope probe. This has been my experience on occasion when trying to connect the alligator GND clip on a dense board.

    What exactly were you probing?
