Hi Team,

My customer is connecting the BOOXTXL-CC3135 to CC31XXEMUBOOST board.

They powered the device and followed the instructions as stated in the document.

but they cannot see SimpleLink Wifi network. Is there anything that they missed out?

Hi Ernest Yong,

Have they only connected the the BOOXTXL-CC3135 to CC31XXEMUBOOST? The CC3135 is only a Wireless network processor, although the CC3235 has an application microcontroller subsystem and you can get the CC3235S Launchpad from here. Their current hardware setup only allows them to measure the RF performance using a software tool named RadioTool, and to update the firmware patches.

For running software examples you will need to download the SDK and use a host processor, the SDK has examples ready to use with TI’s MSP432P401R LaunchPad. You can also reference the SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® CC3x20, CC3x3x Network Processor for more information.

Thanks for the response.

Yes they only connected the the BOOXTXL-CC3135 to CC31XXEMUBOOST. So just to confirm, they would need MSP432P401R LaunchPad as one of the external MCUs to test for the software? Is there any user guide on connecting the MSP432 and CC3135 together?

They would need a host processor since the CC3135 does not have an MCU inside. The BOOXTXL-CC3135 can be directly connected to a compatible LaunchPad using the standard two 20-pin connectors, you can see an image of the booster board connected to MSP432 LaunchPad in section 4 of the CC3135 SimpleLinkWi-Fi® BoosterPack Plug-in Module Hardware User’s Guide.
