CC3135MOD: If either nRESET (Pin 35) or nHIB (Pin 4) can be used for Device Restart and Reset, then nHIB can not be used for Power On Reset

Part Number: CC3135MOD

Hi

in CC3135MOD data sheet, it says that either nRESET (Pin 35) or nHIB (pin 4) can be used for Device Restart and  Reset.

So, we have to choose which one (either nRESET or nHIB) we are going to use for Device Restart and Reset.

In order to save the power, we are considering using nHIB for Device Restart and Reset, and want to know if nHIB can be used for Power On Reset onto CC3135MOD?

During Power ON, only nRESET pin must be held below 0.6V for at least 5ms?

Thanks,

  • Hi Mark,

Yes, for the device to reset the nReset pin must be held low (voltage of at least 0.6v) for 5ms. On the module the timing for the nReset during PowerUp is already handled by internal components (i.e the 100k pull up).

Please refer to the CC3x35 Hardware Design Checklist on tab "CC3135MODR" as it mentions what should be connected to nReset pin.

For the nHib pin note that the minimum hibernate time is at least 10ms, as seen in section "8.15.4 Wakeup From HIBERNATE Mode Timing" of the datasheet).
