CC3235MODASF: how to certificate CTP in CSA

Part Number: CC3235MODASF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3235SF

Hello Experts,

My customer is planning a Matter network products.

they are planning to develop a router device using CC3235MODASF.

this device is a light switch in building.

CC3235MODASF must be previously certificated by the Alliance(Matter) for them to be CTP certified.

refer to below link.

Certification Transfer Program | Join the Program - CSA-IOT

please let me know the procedure for them to get CTP certification.

Also, please provide the Matter certification information of CC3235MODASF.

thanks

best regards,

Robin.

  • We are planning to certify CC3235SF for Matter 1.x by the end of September.

It will be certified as a light with only the mandatory requirements.

To our understanding, any change to application (as your customer needs) and/or clusters/attributes will require a new certification.

It is assumed that following the device certification - a customer certification should be straightforward (assuming only the app code is changed).

  • I have a few more questions as follows:

    1. Does the CC3235SF chip you are trying to certify include a cluster name that contains On/Off or Switch?
    2. If CC3235SF completes matter certification, can I also use CC3235MODASF?
    3. If you develop without any changes (clusters/attributes) with the chip’s certification, can you proceed with Matter CTP certification?

I will wait for your answer. Thank you.

  • 1. On/Off - it will be certified as a lighting accessory (not a switch)

    2. Yes (although as we said before the app will probably requires the re-certification anyway),

    3. As explained - it is very not likely that there won't be changes. But assuming you want to use it as-is then CTP should work.

  • Thank you, Kobi.
So as you said, we are planning to make a product with CC3235MODASF and proceed with the CTP certification.
Is the matter certification for CC3235MODASF also planned for the end of September like CC3235SF?

  • There are currently no plans to certify the module (for Matter). We will certify CC3235SF which should apply for the module.

The module is being certified for RF behavior (through FCC etc)
