CC3235S: Project Setting in CCS to prevent "Error: SLImageCreator.exe: XDS not detected"

Dear all

When I build a project in CCS and have not demoboard or XDS connected to the computer, I always get "Error: SLImageCreator.exe: XDS not detected".

Why do I need a debug probe if I just want to build the project?

Is there a setting in CCS so I can build without a board connected and still not get errors?

The default project build configuration ("MCU+Image") creates not only the application binary (.out) but a Development Image (.sli) that you can flash to the external flash (i.e. to be able to run from flash rather then the debugger). For this "development" image, the CCS need to read the MAC address of the device connected and this is why it tries to find and connect to the device.

Since this happens only after the application binary (.out) is created you can simply ignore this error.

Alternatively, you can use "Manage Configurations" (in project properties) to set the "Debug" configuration as active (this configuration stops the build after the out file is ready)
