I resolved my "Problem loading in-kernel X.509 certificate" problem by supplying the modules libsha256 and sha256_generic beneath /lib/firmware.
(Oops, didn't realize those would be needed for Wi-Fi functionality.) However, I don't know if this is OP's problem,
as I'm using the precompiled kernel, not compiling it myself with GCC 10.
