Hey Wi-Fi team,
I have a customer working with the WL1831MOD on a project and during testing the device temp was slightly over 78 degC. Taking into account the device datasheet we have a few questions:
Any guidance you can provide here would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,

Hi Matt,
Please refer to this post for some details on the control mechanism https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi-group/wifi/f/wi-fi-forum/433922/wl1831mod-junction-te. I'm not greatly concerned about the 78 C being measured, but having the junction temp being close to the max value can impact reliability of the device.
This app note covers reliability metrics of WL18xx modules, it should have additional details that can be useful.
Thanks for the feedback and for sharing those resources Dylan! :)
I'll go ahead and pass this info along to the customer and will have them comment back on this thread with any follow-up question they may have.
Best regards,
Matt Calvo
