CC3120MOD: Disable slower PHY modulations in STA mode

Part Number: CC3120MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3120

Hello,

I have a customer who would like to disable some of the slower PHY speeds to help reduce airtime occupancy. Is there a way to do this on the CC3120? Is there a way to disable 802.11b entirely?

Also, customer has noticed that the CC3120 starts TCP negotiation at 1 Mbps PHY. Is there a way to get the NWP firmware to use a faster PHY to start TCP negotiations?

  • There is no method to control the phy rates for the station/ap mode. a rate adaptation algorithm is applied in the NWP and it will try to select the best/highest rate possible per channel condition.

Host can only control the phy rates using transceiver mode.
