WL1837MOD: WL1837MOD interface issue with iMX8 SMARC module

Part Number: WL1837MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0108

Hi,

We are trying to interface the WL1837MOD module with iMX8 SMARC module.

The driver is not able to load, and the module is not able to detect.

Do we need to do any configuration for IO voltage detection?

Thanks & Regards,

Girish

  • Hi Girish,

We will need more info to support here. Can we start with a schematic?

  • Hi Dylan Hubbard,

Sharing the schematic for your reference.

Sch 1: M.2 connector part in the base board

SDIO_WAKE_1V8 signal is connected to GPIO

WLAN_DIS#_1V8 signal is connected to GPIO

BT_DIS#_1V8 signal is connected to GPIO

    Sch 2: Wilink module schematic

    Thanks & Regards,

    Girish

  • Hi Girish,

Thank you for the schematic - I'll look over it and provide feedback by tomorrow.

  • Hi Girish,

Sorry for the delay here, I had to get with some our Level Shifter experts to also review the schematic on top of me reviewing the WL1837MOD portion. So the reason for your issue is likely due to the TXB0108 level shifter that is connected to the SDIO lines. This level shifter is not suited for the open-drain CMD line to perform the 'hand-shaking' process needed to establish SDIO communication. This level shifter can be easily swapped with the TXS0108EPWR device (p2p) and should fix the issue.
