CC3235MODASF: Number of simultaneous connections to AP

Basic question, I think: I understand that there is a limit on an Access Point for the number of simultaneous connections, up to 255, or so. How many CC32xx devices can connect to that AP simultaneously. The CC3235 has 16 sockets; is that the limit? I need to connect many, many, low speed IoT devices to the AP and I'm wondering how I can determine the limit.

Hi,

At AP mode is CC3235 device capable serve 4 clients only. AP mode is mainly intended for device provisioning. At STA mode (CC3235 is connected to infrastructure AP) number of CC3235 connected to AP depends on capability of that infrastructure AP. And this is question to manufacturer of this AP. Lets say Ubiquiti AP is used: U6 Enterprise (Connected Devices 600+), U6 Professional (350+), U6 Lite (300+).

Hi Charlie,

Do you mean how many CC3235 devices can connect to a specific access point with each CC3235 device being in STA mode? If that is the case then Jan D is correct that this is a limitation specific to the AP device and not to the CC3235 device. If this was not your question then please clarify further and I would be more than happy to help.
