CC3220S: Programming Error with SLI image.

Hi!

Background:

We are using the CC3220S on a custom board. I have created an image file (.sli file) that uses custom keys and custom OTP files. I have been able to successfully program the this .sli file on other boards with no problems.

Current situation

On one of the boards, the Electrical team decided to replace just the MCU ( not the MCU and flash). After replacing the MCU alone, they tried to reprogram the device using the same .sli file; however, they were not able to do so successfully. The team faced the following error :

Question:

There is little information on the error code for 2632, can you help me figure out what this means?

Would replacing just the MCU work? Would the EE team need to replace both the MCU and the flash to prevent any secure boot errors?

In regards on whether both the flash and mcu must be changed, no just changing the mcu should be allright.

Hi Rogelio,

This error code is different than the ones in the links you provided. I've ensured that my image is correct because I can flash other boards using the same setup.

The links you provided show an error code of 2633, the error code I'm facing is 2632. I haven't been able to find anything for 2632. Is there a document with the list of error codes?

Hi Vasav,

The main error code that is occuring here is the Wrong Signature.

Going back to if you need to change the flash. If you had already flashed the OTP on this flash with the previous removed MCU. Then you will need to replace the Flash as well. This is due to the security of OTP which only allows it to be read by the device it was flashed with.

I agree, I did flash it with OTP. Could that be the reason for this error? Is there a datasheet or technical document I can read up to understand why the flash needs to be replaced as well?
