CC3220S: C3220S Wifi connection problem in custom board. Same code is working when we use CC3200 IC on custom board.

Hello everyone

I am using the custom board my all example are working properly when i use IC (CC3200) everything is working and wifi is also working. But when i change IC to CC3220S on custom board i am facing problem in Wi-Fi it is not connected and shown this error. Can you please help me.

This Error shown.

Hi,

Did you just replace the two chipsets on the same board and same SW or did you migrate your code to CC3220?

yes first we are using the CC3200 on our custom board and Now we change the only IC at same board now we are using CC3220S

Hi,

CC3220S and CC3200 are not software and hardware compatible. CC3220S is not a drop-in replacement for CC3200. Your software from CC3200 need to be ported to CC3220S. Your hardware need to be redesigned to support CC3220.

just to add up, when you download the SDK for CC3220, you should see a ./doc folder.

In this folder, you can find a dedicated chapter just for this purpose named: "Migration from SimpleLink Gen1 to Gen2".

Hi,

There is no other solution. If you want to use your code developed for CC3200 at CC3220 you need port your code. To be able use CC3220S at your hardware, it need to be designed for this SoC - it mean you need to redesign your PCB.
