CC3135MOD: CC3135MOD AP mode adaptivity test Fail

Part Number: CC3135MOD

Dear TI team,

CC3135MOD works in AP mode, we increase the output power of the signal source to -50dbm (the regulatory requirement is -75dbm/MHZ), ), after Adding the interference signal  the CC3135MOD stop transmissions.

The CC3135MOD certification report did not test the adaptivity in AP mode.

However, in the User guide, it is claimed that AP mode is supported in 5G,

And according to regulatory requirements, if module does not  adaptive testing for AP mode, it should not claim support for AP mode in its datasheet.

two question for my side

1. Why is there no adaptivity testing data for AP mode in the certification report of CC3135MOD module?

2. Will the CC3135MOD module fail in adaptivity testing in AP mode?

  • Hi,

We usually test adaptivity in station mode. In AP role, the AP transmits beacons every beacon interval time so it makes less sense to test it with AP as all connected stations will not get the beacons and hence disconnect.

In addition, the adaptivity spec clearly states: "The UUT shall connect to a companion device during the test." so it implies that the device under test connects to the tested like station does.

    Regards,
