Hi Team,
with CC3200MOD there is a 3.6 nH inductor in the system antenna circuit, which is Murata LQP15MN3N6B02D (https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/cc3200mod.pdf?ts=1713357707659 Page 43).
But this Murata inductor is discontinued by the manufacturer (https://www.murata.com/products/productdetail?partno=LQP15MN3N6B02%23).
Murata suggests replacement part LQG15HS3N6B02#
Is the suggested replacement part from Murata (LQG15HS3N6B02#) ok to use for this RF application, or is there another tested suggested inductor by TI?
BR,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
That inductor should be fine, but let me verify and get back to you early next week.
Do note that the recommended 3.6nH inductance is based on the TI layout design. If you're Layout and/or placement of the antenna differs you should design your board to optionally have matching components for the antenna. You may refer to section "5.1.1 Antenna Placement and Routing" of the CC3100 & CC3200 SimpleLink Wi-Fi & IOT Solution Layout Guidelines for more Antenna Guidelines.
HI Jessica,
any update to this?
Can you confirm the inductor is fine?
BR,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Apologies, yes the supplier's recommended inductor Murata (LQG15HS3N6B02#) should be fine. Do note if your RF trace layout (or even PCB stackup) differs from the TI design, then it is important to use the appropriate matching components for your layout design.

Jessica M. Torres
