CC3220SF: Enabling XDC Tools in project

Hello Community,

I want to analyze heap memory at runtime, because I am getting heap overflow error in my firmware and would like to know which task is causing this.

I believe by enabling XDC tools I could enable heap tracking in ROV and then could see runtime heap by each task. I tried to creat .*cfg file to enable XDC tools, but I did not see the pop up window usually generated by CCS when it sees *.cfg file.

Please provide information on how I could enable XDC tools in project.

I am using CCS version: Version: 11.2.0.00007

If there is another efficient way to track heap, please provide information about it.

Hey Ki,

I am using TI-RTOS with our custom application based on Out of the box demo of CC3220SF. I know with TI_RTOS7 it can be handled with .syscfg instead of .cfg.

I read this article https://dev.ti.com/tirex/content/simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_6_10_00_29/docs/ble5stack/ble_user_guide/html/tirtos/bios7_migration.html

In my current project, I see the .syscfg file as well but it is an auto-generated file and in the configurator, there is no option to select the heap tracking.

Hence to enable heap tracking I am trying to use the XDC tool with a .cfg file.

Please let me know if there are better options to track the heap utilized from each task.

Hey Ki,

Updating the current status.

I found out that I should edit the .cfg file which is present in the linked RTOS project to enable heap tracking in ROV.

I did that and I could see now the heap track window in ROV, but there are no information present regarding each task heap data. The list is empty.

Is this heap track still not enabled completely or am I missing something here?
