CC3135MOD: CC3135MOD

Part Number: CC3135MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC31XXEMUBOOST

I am writing to seek urgent assistance from Texas team regarding connectivity issues the lab BUREAU VERITAS experiencing with the CC3135MOD module.

My product is on validation In this lab for ANATEL requirements. Despite their best efforts, their team has been unable to establish a stable connection with the CC3135MOD

These issues are hindering my progress in obtaining Wi-Fi certification for my product that uses CC3135MOD module.

Given the critical nature of this situation, I am reaching out to you in the hopes that your expertise and guidance could offer a lifeline to my business.

Could we have a meeting between Texas support team, Bureau veritas and myself ?

Thank you.

  • Hi Daniel,

Regarding meeting with TI please wait for answer from TI engineer if they have such capability.

I am pretty confused from your questions. At this thread 11 days ago you asked for help. But you never responded to my questions. Without providing detail about your issue nobody will be able help you.

  • Dear Jan,

I understood, when you gave the information and I simply sent it to them who are doing the tests.
I don't know if it's their lack of capacity, laziness, but I asked for your help because I don't know what to do. They asked for help today to connect the module and that's why I'm contacting you.

I need this wifi approval, otherwise I run the risk of losing two important clients who represent a lot for my business.
    Thank you for help

    Daniel

  • Greetings Daniel,

Before a meeting can be set we need more information on the issue. What specific test are you trying to run, what hardware setup are you using?

Did you verify your product design follows our guidelines (e.g. the CC3x35 Hardware Design Checklist  and CC3135, CC3235 SimpleLink Wi-Fi® and IoT Solution Layout Guidelines)? After referring to our guidelines did you submit your design for review at https://www.ti.com/tool/SIMPLELINK-WIFI-DESIGN-REVIEWS

Normally when doing testing RF of the CC31xx or 32xx you use SimpleLink RadioTool which can be downloaded at https://www.ti.com/tool/CC3XXXRADIOTEST and user guide SimpleLink Wi-Fi® CC3x20, CC3x3x Radio Tool User Guide

  • Hi Daniel,

Yes, I understood. I have done certification (EMC, safety tests) at many our end products. According my experiences is very bad idea just sent device/product to certification without been physicalist at certification lab. I almost guarantee that they will failed similarly as your certification lab.

As was said by Jessica, please provide more details about nature of issue, connection setup, etc.

  • They asked for help today to connect the module and that's why I'm contacting you.

    Hi Daniel,

I am confused now. Did you send the test lab just the module? If you sent them your product (a PCB/ board) does it have a way to communicate with the module directly, for example via UART or SPI?

The lab will NOT be able to just certify the module without any other hardware setup, like having the device populated on a board. As mentioned by Jan I would recommend you understand how to test the RF of your board yourself first before going to the test lab.

    BR,

    JMT

  • Hi Jesica, I've sent the module connected with my pcb board if you guys can receive photo I can send you.

    Thank you

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

How your board supposed to work? It should be connected with radio tool GUI or controlled by your MCU? If radio tools GUI should be used, how was done connection with PC, via CC31XXEMUBOOST? Have you tested this connection at your side?

btw ... you can insert photo into this thread if you want.

    Jan

  • Hi Jessica , my equipment uses your module to make communication between my equipment and its remote .

I did not send only module, because it is assembled in my board.

  • Hi Daniel,

Have you been bale to test the module on your board with RadioTool yourself, do any errors come up?

    -JMT

  • Hi Jessica

No I haven't. The lab that I sent are doing this testes . I will see if I can test it today.

    I let you know

  • Hi Daniel,

The test lab will know what tests need to be run and how to use their equipment to capture the data for the tests. They will need guidance from you on how to make the device transmit (and other functions) to measure the RF performance.

Please verify that your board has the HW connections available to communicate with the CC3235 (e.g. UART Interface with a CC31XXEMUBOOST), you may refer to section 11 of the https://www.ti.com/lit/swru471. Once you have been able to attempt using RadioTool yourself let us know if you have any issues.
