It is been toold that network bound api's are in blocking state by default.Does that mean the task goes to suspended state or does it have a timeout?

Based on the table in that manual it is possible to set different conditions for when the task gets unblocked. It can be based on a timeout, until the data arrives, until the client connects, and a couple of other options. I have included the table below but please let me know if I can provide further clarification.
