CC3301: Is the CC-Antenna-DK2 compatible with the CC3301?

Asking on behalf of a customer who is planning to tune off-the-shelf antennas and came across the antenna kit (CC-Antenna-DK2). Before proceeding, they would like to confirm if the antenna kit is compatible with the CC3301 (WiFi) wireless ICs which operates in the 2.4GHz band.

Hi Tom,

To evaluate the CC33x1 I would recommend getting a BoosterPack https://www.ti.com/tool/BP-CC3351 which has an onboard antenna AND SMA connector.

Otherwise the Antenna Kit you mentioned seems to be a board with different antenna options, and like any antenna it can be connected to the RF output of the device (i.e. to the SMA connector on the BoosterPack). Note that it is up to the customer to evaluate the antenna used in their design.

I highly recommend they refer to our CC33xx Hardware Integration User's Guide and the links on https://www.ti.com/product/CC3301#design-tools-simulation when designing their own board for the CC33xx.
