CC3235MODASF: Is there a report for Range vs Data rate on CC3235?

Part Number: CC3235MODASF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837MOD

Tool/software:

My customer is using CC3235MODASF for wireless audio application, and would like to inquire for below questions:

1. Is there any test data for the range under max Tx power 2Mbps data rate? It's better to have the range data for different data rate(1-2Mbps) and Tx power.

2. Some Wi-Fi device uses 2-antenna MIMO, but CC3235 only uses 1 antenna. Is the Rx performance going to be impacted?

Best regards,

Shuyang

  • Hi Shuyang,

    1. There is no public test data for tx power vs. range. Range varies with the environment.

    2.  MIMO normally increases throughput and can increase the range. Rx can improve with MIMO instead of one antenna but it depends on the use case. If your customer is interested in MIMO they can check the WL1837MOD device which supports MIMO. You can read about it as well in this document:

    In section 3.2.2.
