TI Logger 5.0 for debug

Hi, I have a TI Logger 5.0 run on XP. I used it to connect to the debug port for BT (115200, 8 bit, none) and on the Logger use "installed Port Island 1". It decode the BT debug message fine. I tried to do the same thing for the other debug port (I assume for the wifi) with similar setting but it does not deocde well, The only "information" that is readable is a "Assert level 2". Any one has a user guide/manual for this or know how to set up for debug Wifi?

  • Hi Ad,

basically you are missing the right conversion file however working with TI logger requires NDA agreement with TI, otherwise we can not support that tool.

  • I am quite sure there must be a NDA in place. We use the OMAP4430 and wl1273 on a Murata modules. My co-wokers went down to Texas. We got the tool from TI. We have the licences key for the tool. What does it take to get the support. Did we missed some files or missed to click on some boxes relating to the decoding. Could I send you a email to authenticated..

  • Ok, find the files. click on them and saw the decoded message. Most of them is just scheduler information... Is there a tool like "hcidump" in the bluetooth  side that could help us debug the wifi.

  • Hi Ed,

There is no such tool like hcidump to debug wifi, however what exactly do you need? In case you would like to see messages from the Driver then you can open the debug capability and see messages on the terminal, and as for firmware debug then the firmware source code is not open so it can not be debug (beside TI) any way.

  • Understand, this  tool if for TI debugging use. I was hoping it will give us a bit more information on debugging say connection and authentication issue. I guess  I will wait for my wifi sniffer. Thanks.
