CC3235MODSF: What is the default RSSI threshold value?

Part Number: CC3235MODSF

Tool/software:

Hello,

What is the default RSSI threshold value that triggers a disconnection?

(SDK: simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_5_20_00_06)

Thanks,

Calvin

  • Hi,

It really depends on the rate in which the AP beacon are transmitted.

Usually, it could be either 1Mbps/2Mbps @11b rates or 6Mbps @11g/11n rates.

Hence, the CC3235 sensitivity level as appears on datasheet can be used as a reference.

In the case above, 1Mbps/2Mbps has ~-95dBm and 6Mbps has ~-90dBm.

Note that these numbers are sampled on the pin RF port and does not take into account any losses.

  • Thank you for the help and 2 more questions here,

    1. I would like to change RSSI threshold by host mcu with a AT command [AT+WlanSet].

What is the default RSSI threshold value before change it?

    2. Can I scan and get RSSI value from a already connected AP?

    Thanks,

    Calvin

  • Hi,

The default RSSI for scanning is -95dBm so you do not filter out any APs.

If you scan, you should get RSSI from all APs, including the one you are connected to.
