Andry,
Although the Hardware for WL1271 device supports SPI, we don't have any drivers or documentation that can help in driver development.
We do have SDIO Drivers for WL1271 available as part of the Linux kernel. This SDIO Driver is also pre-integrated with several TI processors. You can find more details on these drivers and supported platforms in the Wiki below: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/ARM_Processor_Open_Source_Wireless_Connectivity

Hi,
Can you share more details about your application (Processor, HLOS, WiFi throghput and features) and also why SPI is a must have? I can check if there is another product ion our portfolio that might be a better fit.
Thanks,
Adnan
The board is done and now we don't have enough documentation to make it work. Great care and attention was put into this board to ensure that it met your specs and was wired perfectly. Another part is not the answer - documentation and support for the parts you sold is the only reasonable solution short of a new module, board spin and new software porting work. Further details are confidential.
I would appreciate a prompt response from the product manager who is glaringly absent from this conversation. Is the issue that the wireless group has not assigned a product manager so nobody is responsible?
Kim,
I am responsible for addressing issues and concerns related to this product.
I am sorry to hear about the issue and want to help you resolve it.
All of our online collaterals (Wikis, Datasheets) show SDIO as the only supported interfrace.
Can you please help me understand how you were lead to believe that SPI interface was supported? Which Module are you using on your design?
Adnan
Your module partner apparently checked this with TI and confirmed that it was supported. This lack of clarity has cost us and others lots of money, frustration and time to market.
Am I now to assume that the spi is not supported and that sdio must be used? Assuming that we do this, is there additional information on the part for use with SDIO?
Yes, SDIO is the only supported Interface for WiFi on WL1271. UART must be used for Bluetooth.
You can find more details on our Platform (HW & Software) on the MPU platforms suppported by WL1271 on our Wiki here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/ARM_Processor_Open_Source_Wireless_Connectivity
I will email you directly to follow up on the miscommunicaiton from our module partner.
