External Calibration WL127x module

Hi

I have some doubts related to the external calibration process for the WL127x module. I know that there are 3 types of load during calibration:

- Loop back

- Internal FEM load

- External Load (using the antenna)

I also know that for Bip Calibration the load is either internal or external depending on the INI file settings in the "Settings" parameter: Bit5: FEM1-HB - TX BiP load (0: Internal, 1: External).

What I would like to know is if the external calibration utilizes the full electrical path all the way out to the antenna, and whether the path losses experienced are automatically accounted for by performing this external calibration?

Besides I would like to check if the path loss information would be entered separately from the calibration process (within a registry key or INI file), because I was under the impression that an external calibration would automatically obtain path loss data.

Thanks

Igmar

  • Hi Igmar,

as far as i know the Calibration will not utilized full path that is will not be terminated in the Antenna, and for that reason the path loss from Chip itself to the Antenna has to be manually entered in NVS file for the openLink driver on ini file in case of legacy driver.

I will verify that next week to make sure that i am right
