I2C or USB to WIFI

I am looking for ideas/solutions for converting our present product that uses a USB 2.0 connection to an Android tablet (Moto Zoom or Samsung Galaxy), over to a wifi to Android tablet connection.  The USB cable is becoming a customer issue and wifi interface is going to be a future product necessity.  The USB on our board uses a Cypress USB micro-controller (CY7C68053) that is directly fed to an I2C interface on the DSP.

So, is there a chip or chip set that can either: (a) go directly from the I2C on the DSP to wifi that will communicate with Android on a tablet; or (b) convert the USB 2.0 to wifi that will communicate with Android on a tablet?

transmission range desired: 25 - 50 ft.

Your suggestions would be very appreciated.
