Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1350
Tool/software:
Dear TI Support Team,
I had previously raised a query regarding software crashes with the SimpleLink Wi-Fi Toolbox, and we are still encountering the same issue. During our earlier internal RF validation tests, restarting the application after a crash was manageable for capturing the required measurements.
However, we are now performing pre-compliance testing, which requires a stable connection between the PC and our custom CC3301 board for at least one hour. Unfortunately, the application consistently crashes within 2 minutes, forcing us to restart the tool, which is no longer acceptable for our current validation process.
I would appreciate your support in clarifying the following points:
-
Debugger Setup: We are using the XDS110 integrated on the CC1350 LaunchPad to validate our CC3301 custom hardware. The Radio Tool User Guide indicates this is supported. However, would using a standalone XDS110 debugger provide improved stability or is it required for such use cases?
-
Voltage Level Translation: Our CC3301 board operates at 1.8V, while the CC1350 operates at 3.3V. We are using a MOSFET-based level translator between the two. Could you confirm if this approach is suitable for stable operation in this scenario?
-
PC Requirements: Are there any specific hardware or software requirements for the PC running the SimpleLink Wi-Fi Toolbox to ensure smooth and stable performance?
-
Connection Lines: For interfacing between the EVK and our custom board, we are only using TMS (SWD), TCK (SWC), RESET, and GND lines. Are these signals sufficient for proper operation with the toolbox, or are additional lines recommended?
We would be grateful for your prompt assistance, as this issue is blocking our compliance testing.
Best regards,
Deepak D.
